The Docomo mobile network test drone can be operated 50 km away!

According to the All-Japan News Network (ANN), NTT Docomo, Japan's largest mobile operator, has been testing the effects of small drones on mobile communication networks since today.

According to the report, the staff who were detained in Tokyo using the mobile communication network successfully transferred small unmanned people in Yokosuka City, 50 kilometers away.

Docomo has obtained permission from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications to conduct empirical experiments on the use of mobile communication networks to control small drones in parts of Kanagawa, Chiba and Fukuoka. It is reported that this experiment will test the long-distance remote control of the UAV in the mobile communication network environment, and the instant transmission of the images and data of the camera. In the future, the application of drones in scenarios such as large-scale disaster support will be considered.
