On October 27th, the newly built 220kV substation at the 220kV hub of the world’s highest altitude, designed by the Southwest Electric Power Design Institute, was officially put into operation after 72 hours of trial operation.
According to the person in charge of the Southwest Electric Power Design Institute, the Quge 220kv substation is located in the southeast of Lhasa City, Tibet, with a ground elevation of 3733.1 to 3743.4 meters. It is the key electric power construction project in the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†of Tibet. The entire project design took four and a half years to complete.
