The IBC Conference has already opened in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Panasonic, a well-known Japanese manufacturer, also brought in new products and made its 4K HDR and VR cameras the protagonists.
We have previously reported that Panasonic's 4K VR camera PHAROS Project was exposed (Extended reading: Japanese manufacturers finally acted, Panasonic exposed 4K VR cameras), and now Matsushita once again confirmed the existence of this prototype.
It is reported that this 360-degree real-time camera is equipped with four synchronized cameras, capable of creating a 4K resolution panoramic image. Panasonic said it can be used for concerts and sporting events.
In addition, Panasonic also announced two new 4K cameras - the high-end AG-UX180, capable of UHD 60-frame shooting, with 20x optical zoom and 24mm wide-angle; low-end AG-UX90 is 15x optical zoom, UHD 30 Frame rate per second, 24.5 mm wide angle. The two units will be listed in December and November respectively, and the selling price is undetermined.
Panasonic also disclosed a firmware upgrade for professional VariCam LT cameras that can output RAW signals in 4K or UHD 60p.
