Lifetime Lighting DP Launches dVision LED Projector

CEDIA Show 2010 – DPI – the award-winning Emmy Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, the new LED-based “Lifetime Lighting” LED projector – the dVision 30-1080 LED. The new dVision 30-1080 LED projector delivers unmatched ultra-quiet effects, color saturation and color depth for efficient home projectors. Because DPI's LED-based displays do not include traditional lamps, dVision 30-1080 LEDs offer unprecedented long-term cost of ownership, including lower overall maintenance and LED lighting for over 100,000 hours of life. Like the M-Vision Cine LED projection system that DPI has been producing since 2009, DP offers the broadest and most powerful line of LED products based on DLP technology.

With a combination of stable, continuous light output and ultra-low maintenance lighting systems, DPI's new dVision LED display exemplifies DPI's commitment to providing the industry's most efficient projectors in a variety of price and performance areas. In addition, as a critical display performance aspect, the 30-1080 LED uses Texas Instruments DarkChip DLP technology to ensure unparalleled black levels and dynamic range. Equally important, the RGB-based LED lighting system eliminates the need for a color wheel to produce a primary color. In contrast, red, green, and blue LED diodes produce primary color illumination, the colors produced by the color wheel are not realistic enough, and fast moving images are prone to black shadows. These benefits are especially evident when the display requirements are high, such as sports events and games.

The new 30-1080 LED projector inherits the reliability of field verification and the outstanding optical quality of DPI's long-standing dVision. For home entertainment with controlled ambient light, the ultra-quiet and elegant design of the dVisionLED projector offers a variety of system features that support the versatility of virtually any application. A range of ultra-precise optics arrangements make installation more flexible, offering 0.75:1 and 6.5:1 projection options. In addition, dVision's quick-change motorized lens provides a wide range of horizontal and vertical lens shifts, allowing the projector to project at various locations on the screen. Intuitive user control and comprehensive source compatibility ensure that all dVision displays are easy to control and operate.

George Walter, vice president of DPI Home Theater Applications, said: "As LED technology continues to expand in the home application market, dVision marks the era of true high-precision LED-driven projectors in the development of high-end home theaters. The combination of stability proves that dVision ensures that dVision LEDs deliver long-lasting images for home entertainment enthusiasts."
