The interactive electronic technical manual system ( IETM ) is an important guarantee resource for field-level maintenance and provides sufficient information support for field-level maintenance.
IETM design positioning analysis
IETM is mainly used in the maintenance support stage of equipment, and is most suitable for maintenance manuals. It can guide maintenance personnel to perform fault diagnosis and isolation on site through interactive methods. The object of IETM is the product technical data part defined in CALS (Computer Aided Logistics Support), including product support data and product definition data.
IETM Universal Design and Development System
The IETM universal design and development environment is mainly divided into two platforms: development and operation. The development platform is used for the creation of IETM, and the operation platform completes the browsing of IETM.
In the stage of electronic equipment design, designers can electronically and standardize various CAX (computer-aided design, manufacturing, engineering, etc.) engineering data through the IETM development platform, and can load relevant diagnostic strategies through the release of the IETM development platform The function forms an electronic manual that can be used by maintenance personnel.
The IETM Universal Design and Development Environment supports the development process of level 4-5 interactive electronic technical manuals, stores manual content in a hierarchical database, and uses modules to describe the information unit of technical information.
IETM information structure and data model
In the development of IETM, the standardization of IETM's data model is an important issue. The IETM data model is an information model that standardizes and classifies the technical information required during the use and maintenance of different equipment.
The IETM universal design and development environment refers to the international standards MIL-PRF-87268 and MIL-PRF-87269 of IETM, and combines the characteristics of domestic equipment to formulate IETM data structure standards. All data is retained in a granular manner, which can be easily referenced and linked, ensuring the consistency, reuse and openness of data updates, as shown in Figure 1.
