It is expected that electricity consumption will increase moderately by 8.4% this summer

State Grid Corporation of China carried out a comprehensive safety inspection on the 15th to welcome the peak of summer electricity consumption. It is expected that the total electricity consumption in the country's Bacheng area, which is powered by the company, will grow moderately by 8.4% year-on-year, an increase of 5.3 percentage points from last year.

State Grid Corporation of China stated that the growth rate of power consumption of seven provincial power grids in northern Fujian, Hunan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Qinghai, Xinjiang, and Tibet is relatively large and is expected to exceed 10%. The maximum power load of the entire network is expected to reach 590 million kilowatts, an increase of 11.3% over the same period of last year. If there is a large-scale continuous hot weather, the maximum power load may exceed 600 million kilowatts.

In order to ensure safe and reliable power supply during the "summer-summer summer" period, the State Grid will adopt measures such as a large-scale inspection of production safety, strengthening management of demand-side electricity use, and prioritizing the protection of household electricity consumption. In view of the increase in summer power load and frequent occurrence of severe weather, the State Grid will focus on preventing electric shock, lightning protection, and flood prevention, comprehensively investigate potential safety hazards, and eliminate large-scale blackouts.
