James Dyson announced his new 360 eye robotic vacuum cleaner, which will be available in Japan later this year for $1,250. Later in 2015, it will be available in the UK, Europe, China and Australia.
The new 360 eys system is sleek and shiny. It also has a continuous slot track engineering system to help it clean up properly on the floor. A smartphone app that allows you to control the vacuum cleaner directly on your phone with an APP software. Instructions for start, pause, stop, and progress devices appear on the interface. It uses a 360° omnidirectional vision system map and navigates a room to know where it is and whether the area has been cleaned.
Should iRobot be worried? Of course, I have worried that iRobot has sold 10 million robotic vacuum cleaners in the past 10 years. Dyson has a highly experienced high-end vacuum cleaner vacuum market – with annual sales of more than 10 million! iRobot's $487 million is in stark contrast to Dyson. So if the new 360 eye is as good as other vacuum cleaners, iRobot needs to worry about more reasons.
