With the widespread use of Internet technology, different companies in various fields around the world have reached a consensus on “making devices connectedâ€, while in industrial control and communication equipment, more are RS232-compliant serial port devices. How to forward data of multiple serial ports to the network, realizing remote control of devices and remote transmission of data has become an urgent problem to be solved. At the same time, in view of the cost issue, it is impossible to eliminate all equipment in the past. Therefore, this paper proposes an embedded gateway to fundamentally solve this problem. Multi-serial conversion gateways make it possible to transfer serial data streams to Ethernet data streams. It can connect multiple RS232 serial devices, select and process serial data, and convert the data stream of RS232 interface into Ethernet data stream, so that networked data processing can be realized, and serial data can be networked. With this solution, it is not necessary to eliminate the original serial device, and multiple devices can be connected to the network at the same time, which can improve the utilization of the device. The GM8142 can realize a multi-portal solution with low cost, high speed and simple control.
system structureThe TCP/IP protocol consists of an application layer, a UDP layer, an IP layer, and a data link layer. According to the implemented functions, the system is mainly composed of the following two parts:
(1) TCP/IP protocol conversion module: It is a miniature Ethernet access module consisting of a microcontroller, network isolation transformer (HR601680), SDRAM (HY57V561620T), NOR-FLASH (AM29LV320DB). The data information from the client is transmitted to the microcontroller through the RJ45 Ethernet interface, and the microcontroller implements Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) and Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) through the embedded TCP/IP protocol stack. Analysis and encapsulation of protocols such as IP protocol and User Datagram Protocol (UDP). In normal operation, the task of the TCP/IP protocol conversion module is mainly to encapsulate the serial frame of the Ethernet transmission buffer in the UDP packet and transmit it to the IP layer; at the same time, receive the Ethernet data frame and unpack it to the upper layer. The application layer data is separated, and then the data parsing processing is completed by the multi-serial port sending module, and the transparent conversion of the RS232 serial port stream and the Ethernet port stream is realized.
(2) Serial data processing module: It is a multi-(up to 32) RS232 serial data stream receiving/transmitting control module, which consists of a microcontroller, serial port expansion chip (GM8142), MAX232 and other components. The microcontroller and the GM8142 jointly control the data transmission and reception of multiple serial ports: on one hand, receive multiple serial port source data, and then write and write to the Ethernet transmission buffer for packet transmission; at the same time, receive the data of the Ethernet application layer, parse and analyze from the serial port. issue. For the serial port processing module, the specific form of the communication data is not important. Its task is mainly to receive/send, encapsulate/unpack the serial port frame, and provide a common interface for the gateway.
