Dialog Semiconductor Co., Ltd. released a new low-power audio codec-DA7212, which has unparalleled ultra-low always-on power consumption, which can realize various "voice control" applications.
The DA7212 audio codec achieves ultra-low always-on power consumption (650µW), which can extend the battery cruising time of "always-on" portable devices, including new wearable devices such as smart watches and fitness connection devices They can continuously track and quickly recognize voice commands. In addition, it also has a built-in hybrid automatic level controller (ALC) with faster response time and higher gain resolution to maintain consistent audio quality during recording.
DA7212 is a 24-bit audio codec that supports digital or analog MEMS microphones and has many DSP features, including ALC, five-band equalizer, and noise gate. It has a built-in prompt generator for generating DTFM key tones and a speaker amplifier with a maximum power of 1.2W. The advanced startup controller is designed to achieve seamless audio transitions, noise-free volume adjustments, and effectively suppress pops and clicks. The product uses a 34-bump WLCSP package and a novel staggered ball position solution, which helps to improve PCB cost efficiency.
