HP Releases Industry's First VR-Ready Notebook Workstation

VR-Ready not only began to spread to the gaming notebook, but also spread to the workstation. Recently, HP launched a series of VR-Ready notebook workstations: HP ZBook 17 G4. The notebook workstation is the industry's first notebook capable of recovering encrypted BIOS, and all ZBooks have undergone military-grade monitoring and can withstand extreme durability testing in harsh environments.

ZBook Studio G4

The first notebook is the ZBook Studio G4, which starts at $1,399 and is a high-end mobile workstation designed for engineers, architects, and producers. ZBook Studio's chassis is made of all-aluminum alloy with diamond trimming. The 15.4-inch body is equipped with an HP DreamColor 4K UHD display and supports Adobe RGB 100% color gamut. HP said that the ZBook Studio G4 is equipped with a 94-watt battery and can provide 16.5 hours of battery life.

ZBook Studio is only 18mm thick and 4.6 pounds, but it is equipped with Intel Xeon/i7 processor, Nvidia Quadro graphics card and up to 2TB dual hard disk storage, supports lightning 3.0 interface, and provides 40 Gb/s bandwidth.

ZBook 14u G4

The ZBook 14u G4 is the lightest and most compact workstation in the current HP VR-Ready camp and weighs 3.61 pounds. The 14-inch Full HD screen also supports touchscreens, equipped with AMD FirePro W4190M (2GB) professional graphics and the latest i7 processor, supporting up to 32GB of memory and 2TB of hard drive.

ZBook 15 G4

The ZBook 15 G4 starts at $1419 and follows the previous ZBook 15 workstation (currently used by NASA for the International Space Station). The new ZBook 15 G4 integrates a Xeon/i7 processor that supports up to 3TB of storage and Nvidia or AMD professional graphics. The new 15-inch notebook has nothing to say about performance, but the highly customizable ZBook 15 series has been the mainstay of HP workstations.

ZBook 17 G4

The ZBook 17 G4 is the flagship product in the notebook camp and is also a VR-Ready notebook that can support 90 FPS VR experience. The ZBook 17 G4 starts at $1519, while the VR-Read version starts at $3438. The notebook has a wide choice of processors, from i3, i7 to Xeon series. In the video card can also be optional Nvidia Quadro P4000 or P5000 professional VR graphics, or AMD graphics. The ZBook 17 G4 offers three resolutions for users to choose from: 1600×900 (HD+), 1920×1080 (FHD) or 3840×2160 (UHD).

The Zbook 17 G4 also provides basic security standards such as smart card readers, TPM chips, and fingerprint readers. In addition, the notebook also provides three lightning interfaces.

Dry Type Transformer

We adopt the advanced technology imported from Europe, patented technology, specialized software to optimize the design for dry type transformer. The core is made of cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheet which cut in step-lap by GEORG Germany TBA core cutting lines and laminated by the method of fifth-order step-by-step stacking technology, enabling the no-load performance of the core to improve greatly. The epoxy resin from American HUNTSMAN is adopted for the windings which casted in the vacuum resin casting machine imported from HEDRICH, Germany. The winding material ensures good permeability, no bubbles occur, which leads to minimum partial discharge. The HV and LV winding mate with each other tightly, which ensures solid strength of structure and capability to withstand short circuit and vibration. Under normal service condition, the service life of dry type transformer is 30 years. No crack will form on the surface of transformer winding due to temperature variation as long as the transformer runs under normal service condition.
