The settled companies include leading companies such as South Korea’s Samsung Group and Xuchang Wenrun Optoelectronics.

Zhou Yanlong, general manager of the Central LED Lighting Trading Center, said: “We have chosen locations in Beijing, Shanghai, etc. We decided to settle in Zhengzhou. The reason is to take advantage of location in Zhengzhou.”

Xu Xinhong, vice president of the China Optoelectronics Association, said in an interview: “In a strict sense, this is the first professional LED lighting market in the country, which has exemplary significance for leading and regulating the development of the industry.”

For a long time, LED production in the mainland has been mainly concentrated in the Pearl River Delta. Shenzhen has cultivated and gathered more than 900 LED companies, accounting for about 70% of the country. The northern region mainly focuses on agency sales. The entire Chinese LED industry is produced in the south. Agency industry pattern. However, as the cost of coastal areas has risen sharply and the Mainland has increased its efforts to support the LED industry, this industry structure is quietly changing.

In an interview, Samsung Vice President of Samsung Electronics Greater China Tang Naibin said: “We are shifting our market focus from economically developed regions such as East China and South China to the Central Plains cities, so as to maintain the momentum of rapid development and our ancestors will occupy a huge market in the central and western regions.” According to reports, Samsung LED has set up a booth at the Central LED Lighting Exchange Center. In 2012, it will focus on the development of the Central Plains market, and use this as the center to radiate to the surrounding markets.

At the same time, the R&D and production capabilities of LED companies in the northern region have developed rapidly. Henan Province has now formed a relatively complete LED industry chain, with Zhengzhou Shengmao Optoelectronics, Xuchang Wenrun Optoelectronics, Sanmenxia Pengfei and a number of manufacturing companies and research institutions with influence in the industry, among which, Xuchang Wenrun Optoelectronics is One of the largest LED packaging companies north of the Yangtze River.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China’s current patent applications for LED technology have accounted for 27.2% of the global total, only 39.8% behind Japan and 27.6% for the United States. This is one of the most active patented technologies. In 2011, the output value of China's LED industry reached 154 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22%, and the output increased by 50% year-on-year. It is expected that in 2012, led by lighting products, the industry output value is expected to reach 200 billion yuan, an increase of 30% year-on-year.
