Report said that 100 US dollars smart phone globally expected to sell 500 million units this year

Deloitte's high-tech, media and telecommunications (TMT) service team, which is part of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu CPA, recently released "Deloitte's 2012 high-tech, media and telecommunications industry trends forecast." Deloitte estimates that with the help of the kinetic energy in emerging markets, the $100 smart phone is expected to sell about 300 million units by mid-2012, which is equivalent to 20% of all mobile phone market shipments in 2012.

Chen Qingxiang said that with the boost of the $100 smartphone in emerging markets, sales this year are expected to exceed 500 million units. Affected by the hot market of mobile phone sales, all kinds of mobile applications will come out and mobile value-added services will also shine.

Deloitte said that the continuous growth of sales of $100 smart phones will bring downward pressure on the supply chain as a whole, and may also enable the component manufacturers of emerging markets to break into the smart phone supply chain. And most of these mobile phone products are aimed at developing countries' markets. This is also an opportunity for the economically depressed developed country market.
