LUXEON S delivers 1300 "hot" lumens with a new breakthrough package that delivers high light intensity, high color quality and freedom from binning
A new LUXEON-based solution will soon replace Halogen and Metal Halide Lamps (CDM) with higher brightness, longer life and higher efficacy.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - LUXEON S is making its debut this week and is poised to change the expectations of the latest generation of LUXEON LEDs from Philips Lumileds. Designed with the store's spotlights and downlights in mind, the LUXEON S makes easy and efficient illumination possible. Store lighting often requires a focus on the most important products, making the product display more prominent and bright, creating an atmosphere that appeals to and makes shoppers feel comfortable. LUXEON S supports all of these goals and reduces energy consumption and costs.
“LUXOEN S not only opens up a new world for Lumileds, but also for the entire LED industry,†said Frank Harder, vice president of product line marketing at LUXEON. “This product combines thin film flip chip (TFFC) technology with Lumiramic fluorescence technology to turn 9 LED chips tightly. They are lined up and packaged to provide superior color performance and industry-leading optical density. In addition, with the thermal test at junction temperature 85C and "Freedom From Binning", we will continue to be close to the lighting industry. Demand and expect LUXEON to bring higher performance.
Today, there is no difference in color quality and beam from LUXEON S that can be surpassed by any comparable LED. LUXOEN S is the first LED from Philips Lumileds to get rid of binning, meaning it no longer needs to be color binned. Taking the color temperature of 3000K and CRI > 80 as an example, all LUXEON S LEDs have been locked in the range of 3 steps below the black body curve. As a result, unmatched consistency and no difference between the beam and the LEDs is achieved.
The LUXEON S's 1300 "hot" lumen comes from a very small optical source, and a compact reflector with a diameter of less than 50 mm gives a beam angle of 10°. A compact, sharp, indifference beam in a store's floodlights or downlights for higher light intensity - high central beam intensity and a clean, single shadow - highlights the subject Have a sense of depth.
LUXEON S will make its debut at this week's Strategies in Light and Euroshop conferences. At the Euroshop conferences, LUXOEN S for store and hotel market applications will be fully demonstrated in the Fortimo solution from Philips Lighting and other solutions.
