As one of the permanent venues of the Shanghai World Expo, the theme pavilion will undertake the task of deducting and displaying the theme during the World Expo, focusing on the rapid urbanization of the world and the accelerated growth of the urban population. The three organic systems of the earth, the city and the people After the Expo, the theme pavilion will “transform†into a standard exhibition venue, and together with other permanent buildings and facilities such as the China Pavilion, Expo Center, and Performing Arts Center of the Expo Park, constitute Shanghai's emerging modern service industry. The gathering area reveals the key to creating a better city and a better life.
On the west side of the Expo Axis, the theme pavilion of the Expo is surrounded by the concept of “Riding Roof†and “Tiger Windowâ€. It uses the method of “Origami†to form a three-dimensional plane to three-dimensional space. The continuous structure of the triangle is reminiscent of Kite, paper planes, and flying birds symbolize the good expectations of a free life.
In the design of the night light of the theme pavilion, we must not only show the extraordinary concept of the theme pavilion in its architectural art, but also show the theme of “Better City, Better Life†advocated by the Expo.
Top of the building:
The roof of the theme pavilion mimics the characteristics of the front and back slopes of the "Tiger Window" of Shikumen. The repetition of the roof unit corresponds to the rhythm of the Lane, which highlights the urban characteristics of Shanghai, the memory space of urban life and the intoxicating image of the city. Through the white light metal halide lamp, the characteristics of its architectural structure are characterized, so that its architectural design can be clearly expressed at night.
Building south and north facades:
The north facade is the most important aspect of our lighting performance. We rely on the curtain wall hollowing holes that are diminishing upwards and downwards, and we arrange different sizes of full-color LED line-shaped wall washers underneath to form the spatial rhythm of the facade light. The lamp is installed between the two layers of skin on the outermost layer of the building. It is perfectly hidden in the gap of 180mm between the hollow stainless steel plate and the hollow glaze glass. The lamp illuminates every square glazed glass and can be controlled by lighting. Different motifs are expressed, and the top of the north façade is illuminated by long-range full-color floodlights, which evokes the dynamics of the flying wings and represents a tribute to Shanghai's urban culture.
