Nokia's acquisition of Here Maps will provide car location services in the future

Here is also currently working closely with Microsoft. Microsoft acquired another part of Nokia's business and extended the licensing agreement for location data in the transaction.

This is not Intel's first investment in the automotive industry. For Intel, the car is an important area, and Intel needs to occupy a place in this industry. At this week's International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the automotive industry is expected to attract close attention.

Intel's other initiatives in the automotive industry include the acquisition of Itseez and Yogitech to enhance the safety and navigation of autonomous vehicles; investing at least $250 million in the industry; actively participating in major auto shows; and setting up a dedicated autopilot technology in November this year group. Through its investment in Here, Intel plans to design and demonstrate an architecture for proof of concept to optimize driving safety and predictability.
