Microsoft will invest nearly 500 million U.S. dollars for WP7

After Apple released the iPhone for four years and Google Android appeared for two years, Microsoft finally returned to the battlefield with Windows Phone 7. For Windows Phone 7, Microsoft naturally did not take it lightly and invested a lot of money in marketing and development.

Jonathan Goldberg, a telecommunications analyst at Deutsche Bank, predicts that Microsoft will only spend $400 million for the Windows Phone 7 conference. This does not include Microsoft's free investment in a large number of handsets sent to developers.

Greg Sullivan, Microsoft’s senior product director, did not directly evaluate the forecast, but said: “In this area we have a long-term plan, and the mobile phone market is now leaping up, but it is still in its early stages of development.”

Earlier this month, Goldberg had visited Microsoft headquarters. An executive from Microsoft told visiting operators and hardware partners that it would spend billions of dollars on the first year of Windows Phone 7 marketing and development.

In addition, an insider revealed that Microsoft will prepare US$1 billion for the launch of Windows Phone 7, half for promotion and half for various types of R&D.
