Determination of UV protection coefficient in textiles by double-beam ultraviolet spectrophotometer

When ultraviolet light is applied to the fabric, a portion is absorbed, a portion penetrates the fibers of the fabric (including through the voids of the fabric), and a portion is reflected. The more ultraviolet light that passes through the fabric, the more damage it causes to the human body. The method for evaluating the UV resistance of fabrics is usually measured by spectrophotometry. An ultraviolet spectrophotometer was used as a radiation source, and the sample was irradiated with a light beam dispersed by a monochromator, and the radiant flux in each direction through the fabric was collected by an integrating sphere to calculate the ultraviolet transmittance.
