TT Electronics' OPTEK Technologies Inc. has introduced the industry's brightest single-source packaged visible-light LED package that provides a full 120-degree viewing angle for amber, blue, green, red or white LED arrays. The wide viewing angle is a key feature for integrating solid-state lighting sources into automotive interior and exterior lighting, indoor and outdoor electronic signal and display, and architectural lighting and general lighting applications. Nine OPTEK's Lednium Series 1W LED devices mounted on a 1.3 square inch positive electrode aluminum package achieve 330 lumens of brightness and a board mounting area of ​​less than 0.5 inches. OPTEK's Lednium family of LED packages offer different parallel-to-serial combinations, allowing LEDs to be mounted in 3, 6, or 9 versions, allowing engineers to change light output and power consumption. The device has a DC forward current of 1.05A, a peak pulse current of 3A, and a typical forward voltage characteristic of 6.3V to 9.25V (by color).
