At an exhibition on the 15th to 17th of this month, Kaga Components demonstrated a power supply unit based on this technology. According to the principle, the capacitor is removed from the power supply circuit, and at the same time, the power supply circuit can be further reduced. size.
With the issue of environmental issues being noticed, LED lighting technology has been highly anticipated, but the current mainstream LED lamp products have a life cycle of only 30,000 to 40,000 hours, while the existing power supply circuit has a life cycle of only 10,000 hours. A spokesman for Components explained that the life cycle problem relies mainly on electrolytic capacitors in power circuits, which currently have a lifetime of only 10,000 hours.
"Because of the patent and other issues, we can't disclose the details of the circuit structure at present, but we can explain that we remove the electrolytic capacitor from the circuit structure to optimize the entire switching power supply circuit." A spokesperson for Kaga Component said: "And With this optimization, the size of the power circuit can be further reduced. Currently, the size of the power circuit is only 43 x 29 x 8mm."
The new device supports 100V-200V voltage input, the maximum output can reach 20V DC 300mA, can drive 1 to 5 LED lights at the same time, and the device also has a switch control function and an output shortening protection function.
Kaga Components currently offers two different input/output types, which are roughly 500-600 ($5-6) in price, which is comparable to current commercial products.
