Huawei independently developed AI voice assistant customized for the Chinese market

According to foreign media reports, XDA developers recently obtained the leaked Huawei Mate 10 EMUI 8.1 firmware, and found the word "HiAssistant" in the firmware. HiAssistant's icon is completely different from Huawei's current voice assistant "HiVoice", which indicates that Huawei is indeed developing AI voice assistant.

Referring to the previous rumors and developers leaked code, this voice assistant has natural semantic understanding, control peripheral smart devices, voice control QQ / WeChat and other common applications, global search, item identification, accompanying translation and other functions, and is designed for China Customized by the market.

As of now, Huawei officials have not disclosed more detailed information about voice assistants. However, XDA developers have already obtained HiAssistant and HiAI applications from firmware files in Mate 10 EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
