Changhong CHiQ TV can be upgraded with one key HDR

On December 30th, Changhong recently launched a brand-new software upgrade service for CHiQ TV Q2EU and Q2N models. After turning on the TV, the system will display a system upgrade reminder. The user can upgrade to the HDR state by one-click operation according to the instruction.

In 2015, the TV industry showed a number of technologies, such as OLEDs, ULEDs, quantum dots, and so on, that could compete with each other and take turns. Several parties believe that they are the next generation of display technology, once diametrically opposed to each other. The only consensus is that everyone's focus is on quality. It is also in this situation that HDR suddenly emerged as a dark horse and caught the attention of the industry.

As early as in September 2015, IFA in Germany, mainstream TV companies have been equipped with HDR technology in their new products. Not long ago, Panasonic, LG, and Sony also launched new fall TVs based on HDR technology. According to industry insiders, HDR can exhibit a very high color range, display more details, and will become the mainstream display technology in 2016.

Changhong and MTK have previously cooperated on HDR video decoding. The biggest feature is that they can perform software upgrade iterations on existing Changhong TVs. When users need to upgrade, they can upgrade to HDR status with a single key operation.

It is reported that many types of Changhong CHiQ TVs, including Q2EU, Q2N, Q2R, Q2C, etc., have already supported this function.
